The Dominican Republic is exposed to hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, landslides, tsunamis, tornados, hale, and forest fires, among other natural phenomenon at particularly destructive intervals.
The Asociación Dominicana de Mitigación de Desastres directs its efforts towards raising the population’s awareness regarding the regular recurrence of these events and the most effective measures to implement to reduce their impact in order to achieve sustainable development via risk management.
